WHAT IS DC X-RAY ?
DC or AC types refer to the method of making X-ray. DC X-Ray uses electronics to generate X-ray. The significant difference is that the DC X-Ray contains lower levels of “soft x-rays”. Soft X-rays are harmful as these can be easily absorbed by the cells in our body. Soft X-Rays are undesirable.
Further, in DC X-Ray the electronics ensures that the quality of x-ray is controlled and consistent. Exposure times needed for DC X-Ray is lower
AERB CERTIFICATION & LICENSING
AERB is a regulatory agency working for the safety of users and the public from the harmful effects of radiation. AERB asks users of medical X-ray to follow some simple rules to ensure safety for all. These rules are transparent and easy to follow. For dental intra oral x-ray, the process to comply with AERB is mostly an online method. It involves registering the user at AERB website, using safety devices like lead apron, purchasing AERB tested and approved x-ray machine and getting a license to operate the X-ray. Further requirement includes a periodic check on the X-ray machine to ensure the X-ray quality is as required. For more information, visit www.aerb.gov.in
